I got a bone to pick. Simply put, I think some people need a lesson on etiquette in restaurants. I see so many horrible habits that just annoy the hell out of me, and Im here to clear some up so you dont make an ass out of yourself next time you find yourself dining out…

1. If I seat you at a 2-top table because your party is only two people, please dont move to a table for 3 or 4 people! We placed you at the best table for the amount of people in your party and we need to reserve larger tables for larger parties.

2. Do not walk past the “Please Wait To Be Seated” sign and just help yourself to any random table. Just because one is being set up or wiped off, doesnt mean its for you. It could be for a reservation coming in soon, or that section is closed, or a party is waiting ahead of you for that exact table you sat yourself at.

3. Do not stand next to other tables while waiting for your own, you are bothering them and getting in the way of a clear path for the servers.

4. If I tell you I dont know how long the wait for a table is, please dont ask me to estimate again, do not ask me to tell you which table is the closest to being finished, and most definitely do not leer or linger near a table that you think is finishing soon.

5. When calling in about reservations, if I tell you we are full for the evening, please do not repeatedly ask if you can come in earlier, or later – WE ARE FULL ALL NIGHT WITH RESERVATIONS PLACED LONG AGO! If you want to come in and ask a reservation to leave, so your party can take their place, be my guest, but also dont be mad when I kick you out for it.

6. When ordering To-Go, please tip a $1.00 at least. Really… Someone cooked your food while it was busy during lunch, packed it up nicely, and served it to you. Someone likely stopped serving their tables to give you the food and to ring you up. Please appreciate the service and understand that To-Go is a service many nice sit down places DO NOT OFFER!

7. If you are expecting a large party, and not all parties have shown up..Please do not carelessly order “water” for the whole table. Most people believe it or not do not want water, and it puts more work on us that we could better put to serving you actual things you want.

8. Maximum 2 Credit Cards per table. Asking for separate checks does not mean separate tables, and 2 credit cards still apply. This is non negotiable. You dont have the money, leave your drivers license and go to the ATM and get cash.

9. Asking for “Hot Water” or “Hot Water with Lemon” does NOT mean I will also bring you a spoon or a sugar caddy. Matter of fact, I know what youre trying to do, and I wont bring you one for the reason youre trying to be cheap.

10. Please dont play alpha-male, or alpha-female and order for everyone at the table, or call me over and ask me for things for other people at your table. They are big boys and girls and can ask for things themselves if they want them.

11. Dont come out to eat if you cant afford it. That includes the tip. Standard is 16-18%, 15% if youre cheap. If your bill is $30, dont leave $2. Thats insulting and I basically worked for free. Ill remember this and serve your table last and “forget” your drinks. I am not required to give you more then you need since youre stealing from me.

12. Dont order the cheapest thing on the menu and then share it, and then bitch about the “share plate” charge. You’re getting more food when you split it anyway, and that costs more.

13. Please keep in mind our restaurant is small, do not “park” yourself at a table when many others are waiting. You wouldnt want them doing it to you would you?

14. When I ask if I can get you drinks or anything else, do not ignore me and have conversations on the phone, with your partner, or keep reading your paperwork. When you ask me for something, Ill keep talking to my coworker and ignore you.

This list will be updated further….

Hey all of you out there in commuter land…

Why do you feel the need pollute our rail system of your garbage? It must be really hard for the Indian guy with bad breath and body odor who sat behind me this morning to throw away his Subway sandwich bag when he is done. I guess he thinks Caltrain is a Howard Johnson, or maybe his mom works as housekeeping on Caltrain, either way, he felt it was play to leave his garbage behind this morning.
Tonight I get on the train home to San Francisco and spotted this under the seat in front of me…the banana in the pic.
Really people? Is it honestly that hard you can’t throw your garbage away? I mean I hate Caltrain as much as the next guy but I also don’t want to give them ammunition to raise my fare even more because someone has to clean up after some of you pigs.

Have some fucking respect.

As you can see, I reported about this light leaking on Caltrain yesterday… while I personally reported it to a conductor I notice the same card in the same place I left it. Looks like no one on Caltrain cares about simple maintenance that could price costly in the future. With a transit agency strapped for money, I understand why this small task could be put off, however if this is such a small yet costly job to fix, it makes me wonder how many larger more costly jobs that are imperative to rail safety have been put off in the sake of saving money.
Just a thought.

Riding home on Caltrain 263 today I noticed a little note on the table I usually sit at… oh lovely, the light above leaks in the rain… I wanna thank the guy or girl who left this note alerting passengers and crew.
I actually tacked it to said leaky light so maintenance can clearly see it.
Thanks to the person who wrote this though. Without stating something that should be obvious to Caltrain, they likely would have ended never fixing the issue and it would have led to a bigger problem, possibly screwing up a commute somewhere down the line.

Thanks for alerting someone. I like you already!

Hey everyone

This blog entry will soon have its own blog to report bad behavior on Caltrain.

The photo below is of an inconsiderate woman who felt the no feet, no socks, no shoes on seats on Caltrain rule didn’t apply to her. I secretly snapped a photo of her in hopes someone reads this and spots her on their train and can tell their conductor.
What an inconsiderate cunt! Yup I said cunt simply because she thinks she can not only put her feet up but she has a purse AND snot rag on the seat next to her. Does this cunt ( I said it again ) have no hygienic respect?

Hey my peoples….

Im working on a more descriptive post on 4G and what not. But till then, I wanna simply tell you what 4G means to me.

4G means LTE or WiMAX, maybe it means HSPA+ if the speed is MORE then 21MBPS. Sprint and Verizon both have 4G networks officially, and T-Mobile only thinks they do. Ill wait and see if their speed is faster and network is more robust then the big ones.

4G means data speeds that rival DSL and Cable, and that would be a MINIMUM of 6MBPS, not the 1.5-4MBPS Ive been getting in testing phases.

4G means coverage that rivals current 3G. Offering coverage in areas 3G isnt, but even better means having the 3G network much more open and robust with speed and stability in the areas that I cant get 4G. Ironically Ive experienced this on the HTC EVO – the 3G network IS a lot more faster on this phone then any other Ive used, even if the actual speeds are slower.

4G means being able to use VoIP applications, make video calls, send email faster then light, and it means having services offered by my carrier that make me view 4G as a value. This would be offering me exclusives to 4G.

4G means being able to tether my internet connection to my computer without a hiccup, even when others on 3G keep losing signal and data speed.

4G means being able to update my Facebook, Twitter, and MySpace without having to think how to do it.

These are just some things I expect from 4G….

Its time for my birthday and Christmas – I know times are tough…so tough, I havent been able to buy the best phone out there, the phone Ive had my eye on for SIX months, the Sprint HTC EVO 4G.

Because this is the time for giving, I am asking if anyone wants to help give me the gift of FUN this year.

 https://giving.paypallabs.com/flash/badge.swf

You can donate any amount listed to my fundraiser above to help me reach my goal of $250.00. Any amount is appreciated and will be applied toward the purchase price (with contract of course) unless there are not enough donations – which at that time I will apply those funds received toward my wireless bill.

Please help me if you can or if you like. It is greatly appreciated.

Hey everyone,

Excuse me while I geek out for a moment. CTIA is taking place in Las Vegas Nevada this week, and while most of the “mobile carriers” are finished with their network upgrade hints, their 3G+ and 4G technology unveiling and new phones that will revolutionize the way we use data, I ask myself and others… What can your mobile 3G or 4G network do?

AT&T has the iPhone 3G/3Gs and promises the fastest data speeds of all carriers, but is this really true? Of course, if you use an iPhone in San Francisco or New York you might be hard pressed to say “Yes it is fast!”.

T-Mobile claims they have the fastest 3G network via HSPA+, boasting speeds exceeding current LTE trials and WiMAX (by Clear/Sprint), but it is only in one city with one device for the time being. Is that really the fastest network?

Verizon claims that they have more 3G in more places then all carriers, and while this is true, just exactly how fast is that 3G in most of those areas? From my experience, it isnt as fast as it should be.

Sprint claims to have the most dependable 3G network, and they were the first to deploy not only EVDO Rev. A (the faster of the EVDO 3G CDMA platform) but they also rolled out 4G, the only advanced wireless network in the USA to date.

So I have decided to ask you what can your 3G or 4G connection do for you? How do you use it? Are you tethering to a computer or other data device? Do you have television or radio on your device, and how is the quality?

Let me tell you what I can do…

I have a BlackBerry 9630 Tour. It has not only the EVDO Rev. A 3G CDMA standard, but also has Quad-Band GSM/GPRS/EDGE for domestic and international travel, but in addition HSPA 3G World Standard for using 3G networks in the GSM platform while roaming outside the United States, Canada and Mexico. Id say that this phone is pretty well set to do it all. So I try to use it all…

Daily I am able to not only stream Sprint TV in 24fps over my current 3G connection, but I am also able to do the same for radio, at just slightly less then CD Quality. If I buy music, it is just at CD Quality, and it only takes a few seconds to download an entire song!

I listen to Slacker Radio religiously, which uses a proprietary format to stream, download, and cache music, it is still pretty data intensive and uses data when songs start, end, when the channel is changed, or when loading the radio stations. Every 3-4 minutes it puts on a data connection for a good 30 seconds to update every station, every icon, but most importantly, update my music. Oh, and the music comes through at a quality BEYOND CD quality. The compression ratio is so great that there is no digital distortion, and the bass and treble are higher quality to that of a CD. Think an HQ file, but compressed where the sound doesnt really suffer.

UberTwitter and Facebook are constantly updating, with the former using GPS or A-GPS in various forms and strengths to update your location. Google Maps does the same thing. All of this is easily done, quickly on a 3G network that is stable, like the one I use.

So tell me…what do you do on your phone or device. What network do you use? What technology for 3G or 4G do you prefer?

Hey everyone,

Well well well, here we are again at least. Dan Hesse, CEO of Sprint coming forward in yet another commercial to say how great Sprint is over the competition. The #3 largest wireless carrier has put more focus on their $69 price plan against Verizon and AT&T, the #1 and #2 largest wireless carriers in the USA respectively.

Dan is now in a new commercial where he, quite truthfully I might add, states that people are using their wireless phones for more than just voice calls followed by stating that Sprint offers unlimited data, text-picture-video messaging, and unlimited Any Mobile Anytime calls to all wireless phones in the USA for the same price of $69 as AT&T and Verizon, whom offers only voice.

I thought we were over the “Dan Hesse” commercials? Havent we moved on to the new commercials that promote selected devices, every single one of them have been data centric, and the 4G network that is coming soon? I guess Sprint feels its time to get a little retro again and throw Dan into the mix one last time.

I’m pretty sure by now many people know that Sprint does have the best pricing plans offered of the 3 larger carriers. Sure they require 2-year contracts, and T-Mobile does not, but for the sake of the “legacy” and “big 3 carriers” lets stick to talking about that.

So, my proposal to Sprint is to heed my marketing advice as outlined below.

Price – Keep pushing that Sprint has MORE for their $69.99 price point. Point out that unlimited phone data, text-picture-video messaging is included, but also point out that along with the Any Mobile, Anytime Unlimited Calling all this comes with Sprint TV, Sprint Radio, and Sprint Navigation (none of which is included on other carriers) – Something catchy like using the GPS to “never get lost” or “to find that special restaurant you heard about in a new city”.

Coverage – Sprint coverage is great in most places, and they should promote that CDMA and iDEN both cover almost the entire population of the country, even in those rural areas. Promote the free roaming that comes along with it, and point out that the Airave gives coverage in your home. Drop the price required for that, and just offer it FREE after they buy the device.

Customer Service – Win back some customers by showing that the customer service has improved. Show an incentive for ONE CALL SOLUTIONS and offer the customer a credit if a solution is not figured out within 72 hours or something. Show there is less hassle when trying to get phones replaced or exchanged. By all means, drop the $35 restocking fee. If a customer wants a different phone because the original they selected in the first 30 days isn’t working, why penalize the customer who can easily go to AT&T or Verizon for an iPhone or a Droid?

Data – Make 3G data unlimited for those who have the 4G package as well, but only offer the 4G package in 4G enabled areas for the time being. This prevents abuse from 3G only serviced customers, but also encourages people who might not trust 4G to fall back on 3G in areas and not have “excess” charges if they go over 5GB.

These simple changes can make any customer happy, but can make any Sprint customer REALLY happy.

Finally….

OFFER NO CONTRACT and ONE YEAR CONTRACT plans again.

What is the big deal offering people who provide an old Sprint phone the option to go MONTH TO MONTH and get the Everything Data plans? There is no big deal, so offer it!

One Year Contracts are key here. No other carrier actively promotes 1 year pricing on phones, so why not hybrid T-Mobiles No Contract Full Price Phone Discounted Plan rate called Even More Plus, and offer 1 Year Contracts on phones with the standard 2-year discount price, but offer the rate plan $10 more per month, that’s $120 more per year, certainly that makes up for the discount subsidy right?

Please PLEASE PLEASE Sprint… take some of my ideas to heart!

Hey everyone,

The picture above is what I want more then anything right now. I want my love Leonardo to hold me, to keep me safe, warm, and for me to feel everything in my life is going to be okay.

I could go on and on, but whats the point. Many of you reading this will not understand how or why our relationship works. And many of you still dont know how he and I met, of course this does not matter really, the point is, we are together, have grown together rapidly, and are making some decisions that will affect us in our lives sooner rather then later.

I guess I wanted to write this, because I miss my Leonardo, I feel so empty and lonely without him here by my side. One day sooner over later, we will be together in each others arms, like in the picture.

So if you happen to be reading this Leon, I love you much, and dream of you every single night!
